Mario Luigi Sports Committee

Page history last edited by Crazy Packers Fan 1 year, 3 months ago

The Mario Luigi Sports Committee is a group of 50 Lego characters, Nintendo characters, and Tommy Phillips Channel broadcasters in charge of various sports in the Nintendo and Lego worlds. The Mario Luigi Sports Committee was originally called the Mario Lego Sports Committee, until 2005, when the nine Tommy Phillips Channel broadcasters were added to the committee, and it was decided that the focus of the committee should be on the thriving Nintendo-based leagues, as the Lego Football League's popularity declined rapidly starting in 2001.

In 2014, a uniform group of 32 franchises was adopted throughout all Mario sports leagues (except the Koopa Hockey League), with all 32 franchise owners becoming members of the Mario Luigi Sports Committee (besides those already on the committee). As of 2019, there were 36 franchises. As of 2022, there are 41 franchises.
